Install
Install AI Workforce One HQ from the Visual Studio Marketplace in VS Code, or from Open VSX in Cursor, Windsurf and VSCodium.
The extension's id is aiworkforceone.awo-hq and its name is AI Workforce One HQ. It needs
VS Code 1.90 or newer.
Version 0.1.0 is published as a pre-release. If your editor offers Install Pre-Release, choose it.
VS Code
Open the Extensions view (Ctrl+Shift+X, or Cmd+Shift+X on macOS), search for
AI Workforce One HQ, and install it. The publisher is aiworkforceone.
code --install-extension aiworkforceone.awo-hq --pre-releaseThe listing is on the Visual Studio Marketplace.
Cursor, Windsurf and VSCodium
These editors install extensions from Open VSX. Open the Extensions view, search for AI Workforce One HQ, and install it. The listing is on Open VSX.
From a release file
Every version is also on
GitHub as an awo-hq-<version>.vsix
file, with a SHA256SUMS file to check it. In the Extensions view, open the ... menu, choose
Install from VSIX..., and pick the file. An extension installed this way does not update on its
own.
Check that it worked
The AI Workforce One HQ icon appears in the Activity Bar. Open it: the Teams view says "Sign in to see your teams." Next, sign in.
Update
Your editor updates extensions on its own unless you turned that off. To update by hand, open the
Extensions view and choose Check for Extension Updates from its ... menu.
When HQ no longer accepts an old version, the extension says "This version of AI Workforce One HQ is no longer supported. Update it from the Extensions view."
Uninstall
Run HQ: Sign Out first, so HQ ends this computer's access, then uninstall the extension from the Extensions view. If you already uninstalled it, remove the editor in HQ, under Account, Devices.
Good to know
- The extension always runs on your own computer, also in a remote window (WSL, a dev container or another remote host), so your sign-in and your forwarded ports stay on this computer.
- It sends no telemetry and talks only to your HQ address.
